With the increasing need for nurses with bachelor's degree, an RN to BSN degree will help you expand your career options! Created with your needs in mind, we've developed a flexible online program to allow you to learn on your schedule.
Our R.N. to B.S.N program has students enrolled from numerous counties across Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Virginia who work at many different facilities in varying capacities. This creates an inspired learning environment for a diverse group of individuals.
While most of the program is online, you will take part in a required 135-practicum hour that is completed within your community. FSU offers you multiple options for completing the practicum hours using both synchronous and asynchronous practices. You will be presented with sample progression plans to follow that allows you to finish the program in a timely manner. This can be completed in as little as 15 months or take up to 60 months (maximum time). If desired, in most semesters, you can take as few as one class.
Frostburg also offers an online RN to BSN dual enrollment program for students already enrolled in a community college nursing program. You can take Frostburg's courses online during the nursing program at their community college. Once you receive your associate's degree, you must take and pass the nursing licensure exam and then continue coursework at FSU to complete the BSN.
Location
Offered entirely online to fit your busy life, with hands-on learning through clinical hours at sites close to home. For the dual enrollment program, coursework occurs face-to-face at the community college and asynchronously online at Frostburg. Dual enrollment is available with the following schools:

What You'll Learn
As a student of the R.N. to B.S.N. program, you will get the skills to think critically and creatively to address professional practice and patient care issues, as well as apply leadership concepts and collaborative strategies to the process of nursing care delivery. You will demonstrate the knowledge, skills and attributes of professional nursing practice and learn to identify and understand basic elements of nursing research to integrate scientific evidence with clinical judgments. You will also get the fundamentals to safely use interpersonal communication and information technology to improve patient care, including those from vulnerable populations.
