As an athletic trainer, you will be a key collaborator with physicians and other health team members to provide preventative services and emergency care to injuries and medical conditions and improve performance for physically active patients.

Through Frostburg State’s program you'll learn from classroom instruction, as well as clinical rotation opportunities to gain practical hands-on experience.

From pathology of injuries to rehabilitation and nutrition, you’ll acquire the tools to become an integral part of a health care team. You'll develop your critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills needed in a field where time and deft action are vital.

Athletic Training Program Highlights

  • Gain in-the-field clinical experience with intercollegiate athletes, high school athletes and other affiliate sites under the supervision of a certified and licensed athletic trainer and other health care providers.

  • Actively participate in interactive classes with a combination of didactic and clinical experiences, including education of medical knowledge and human performance skills.

  • Practice your exercise science skills within FSU’s well-equipped facilities, including a modern physiology lab and athletic training clinic with state-of-art therapeutic equipment.

  • Develop your critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills needed in a field where time and deft action are vital.

  • Participate in FSU’s Athletic Training Club, Student Athletic Advisory Committee or Student Health Advisory Council and expand your professional development in the athletic training field.

What You'll Learn
